Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Ephesians 1:4 NLT
Sometimes it is very hard for us to understand the depth of God’s love for us. Here in Ephesians 1:4 it says that he loved us ‘Even before he made the world’. We tend to think that we are insignificant and nothing in the vastness of the universe and over the history of the world. BUT, God loved us before he made the world.
He also chose us to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Notice that, in his eyes!! Not in the eyes of your dad, not in the eyes of your spouse or girlfriend, not in the eyes of the church, not even in the eyes of the law of the land. No, in his eyes, and that is what really matters.
I work with guys who have failed and fail consistently when it comes to sex, relationships and other things. One of the most common feelings is shame. Shame is often because we are viewing ourselves how we think others view us. As followers of Christ we are ‘without fault in his eyes’. Without fault!! Romans 8 says that there is ‘no condemnation’. If we truly believe that we are forgiven and without fault or condemnation in God’s eyes, how can we live a life of shame.
Live today without shame, assured that you are whole in God’s eyes.
