Grace and Peace

Published by kpeckett on

This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am writing to God’s holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Ephesians 1: 1-3 NLT

As I read this, I am reminded that this letter was written by one of the Apostles, definitely a Man of God, to a church that was far from perfect. As we will see later they were divided about who they were following: kind of reminds me of the church today.

Thanks to social media and celebrity pastors, bloggers, vloggers, and authors, we all tend to be divided as to who to follow. We watch a new video from somebody that seems to make sense and then some other commentator posts against it. Our feed tries to pull us to two different camps.

If you have felt pushed and pulled by the church or by people in the church, understand this is nothing new. BUT as Paul says if we are still ‘faithful followers of Christ Jesus’ may He give us grace and peace.

In a messed up divided world if we look to Christ Jesus and not people, not the church but Christ Jesus then we can live a life of peace and grace.
